The fellow who owns this bass found out that a bass does not double as an ottoman. When I got it the bridge had forced the bassbar down bringing the top with it in the worst fracture I'd ever seen. In addition, the bass-side lower table had about six cracks that spanned the whole lower section.

The strips of spruce that are ninety degrees to the bar are mortised through the bar. This is the proper way to repair a bassbar crack. Very time consuming.
